Florence Walker Spieler

Former Greenport resident Florence Walker Spieler of Kingman Ariz., died March 30. She was 97. 

She was born in New York City, Feb. 24, 1918, to Richard and Florence Walker and was raised in Greenport.

Ms. Spieler was a past member and president of the Greenport Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.

Family members said she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing and playing cards.

Ms. Spieler was predeceased by her children Jacqueline Motley, Anita Rock- Reed, Dorothea Harvey-Heins, Lloyd Miller and Kenneth Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Carole J, Myslborski of Greenport; and was grandmother to 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her twin brothers David and Richard Walker, both of Greenport.
