To the editor:

I’d like to respond to your featured articles in the July 23 edition. I, too, was almost the victim of a limo two weeks ago. I was traveling eastbound from Southold Town when a white limo backed out of The Old Field winery. By the time the driver could see me, his limo obstructed the entire eastbound lane. I was forced into the westbound lane with westbound traffic approaching in the near distance. Fortunately, a head-on disaster was avoided.

The following weekend, again traveling eastbound, there was a “Brew Crew,” a 14-seat bicycle that tours the Riverhead breweries. It was also traveling eastbound on Main Road and overlapped well into the roadway. It had a hazard sign posted on the back. They, too, are a potential disaster on our roadways and better suited for safe fun on a vacant lot somewhere.
