Cops: Mattituck man charged with drug possession, unlicensed driving

For the second time in three months, a Mattituck man was arrested when police caught him driving with a revoked license with heroin in his car, according to a Southold Town police report.

Thomas Concolino, 38, was pulled over on Deep Hole Road in Mattituck about 10:30 p.m. Monday for having illegally tinted windows, police said. Mr. Concolino’s license had been revoked for a previous driving while intoxicated conviction and failing to pay fines multiple times, according to the police report.

The man allowed police to search the vehicle, and inside cops found hypodermic needles and a “metal spoon that contained a light brown substance” that tested positive for heroin, according to the report.

Mr. Concolino was arrested and charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving with a revoked license, police said. He was held for arraignment.

The Mattituck man faced similar charges in August after he was pulled over for using a cell phone while driving. Again, police alleged Mr. Concolino was driving with a revoked license and was in possession of heroin.

The outcome of that case wasn’t immediately available.
