Rose Marie Hawkes

Rose Marie Hawkes, 83, of Hobe Sound, Fla., passed away Nov. 14, 2015, at hospice in Stuart, Fla. 

She was born June 20, 1932, to John and Mary Norklun of Southold. Rose graduated Southold High School in 1950. She married Robert Hawkes of Concord, N.H., in 1954. She raised two sons and a daughter while living in Connecticut and most recently, Florida.

She was predeceased by her brothers, John and Richard Norklun, and her sister, Margaret Scharadin. Rose is survived by her husband, Robert; her son Robert and his wife, Megan, of Tennessee, her son John and his wife, Kathy, of Washington State, and her daughter, Mary, and her husband, Trey, of Florida. She is remembered as a loving mother to the family and a great “Nana” to her 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Final arrangements were made by Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Florida. An April 2016 remembrance service is planned.
