Southold blotter: Thefts reported at Mattituck church

Two people reported their wallets being taken from Mattituck Presbyterian Church on Sunday and another person reported a jacket and wallet taken from the church last Wednesday, according to three separate police reports.

One report was filed around 9:20 p.m. last Wednesday. A New Suffolk woman told police her $100 black winter coat was taken along with a black wallet worth $20, a second wallet worth $15, $20 in cash, two credit cards and a New York driver’s license.

At 12:45 p.m. Sunday, another report was filed. The victim, a New Suffolk woman, told police that a black wallet filled with more than a dozen credit and identification cards was stolen. The total value was listed at $65.

The third report was filed around 1:05 p.m. the same day. A Southold woman told police her wallet was removed from the church, but the report did not list any cards or value lost.

Police were unsure whether the incidents are connected.

• Someone stole more than $1,500 in electronics and jewelry from a Greenport Village apartment last week, according to a police report filed last Thursday.

A Second Street resident called police around 8 a.m. last Thursday to report that the back door to her neighbor’s house appeared to have its front door broken into. An officer responded to the Third Street apartment and learned that some property was allegedly stolen.

The resident claims an Emerson television worth $600, an LG television worth $550 and assorted bracelets worth a total of $500 were taken from her property. Another Third Street resident was listed as a suspect in the police report, but no more information was available.
