Porters’ varsity hoops game against SWR postponed

The varsity basketball game between Shoreham-Wading River and Greenport was postponed this afternoon following a minor car accident involving Wildcats’ coach Kevin Culhane. 

Greenport superintendent David Gamberg said in an email that Shoreham-Wading River called at about 2:15 p.m. today to cancel the non-league game that was originally scheduled for 6:15 p.m.

Shoreham-Wading River athletic director Mark Passamonte said Mr. Culhane was not seriously hurt and went to a hospital for precautionary reasons.

The JV game was to be played as scheduled, Mr. Gamberg said.

The Wildcats’ next scheduled game is Jan. 28 at East Hampton.
