The next stop for Mattituck: the county finals.

The top-seeded Tuckers took down No. 4 Babylon, 55-36, in the Class B semifinals Saturday afternoon at Mattituck High School.

The win sends the Tuckers into the county championship game Tuesday against No. 3 Center Moriches.

The Red Devis, after losing twice in the regular season to Bishop McGann-Mercy, defeated the Monarchs in the other semifinal.

Sophomore Liz Dwyer led Mattituck with 17 points in Saturday’s win as the Tuckers improved to 17-1 overall. Junior Corinne Reda was the only other Mattituck player in double figures with 11.

It was the third win of the year for Mattituck over Babylon this year.

Tuesday’s county championship is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Riverhead High School. The Tuckers will be vying for the program’s first county title.

Mattituck swept the season series against Center Moriches, winning most recently on Feb. 1, 59-51.
