Russell L. Salerno

Russell L. Salerno of Mattituck passed away June 8, 2016. He was 67 years old.

Born in Brooklyn in 1948 to Lucy and Philip Salerno, he was the devoted husband of Barbara.

Russ served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, he became self-employed as the owner and manager of rental properties in New York and Long Island.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, June 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, June 13, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Mattituck. Interment with U.S. Army honors will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.

Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or Humane Society would be appreciated.
