Peter Vincent Conlon

Peter Vincent “Vince” Conlon of Laurel died June 15, 2016, at San Simeon by the Sound. He was 74. 

He was born Aug. 3, 1941, in County Sligo, Ireland, to Timothy and Catherine Conlon and graduated from Iona Prep in 1961, Iona College in 1967 and received his Masters in Business Administration in 1971.

On October 1, 1977, Vince married the former Pamela Mantegazza and together they made their home in Port Chester, N.Y. They moved to Laurel permanently in 2007, having summered there since 1981.

Vince worked for the New York State Banking Department for 36 years as a bank regulator and deputy superintendent of banks.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck and a member of Mattituck Laurel Civic Association.

Vince is survived by his wife Pamela and son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Jordan Conlon and nieces, Julie (David) and Jean. He was predeceased by brothers, Theodore, Joseph and Seamus.

The family received visitors on July 17 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated  June 18 at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church by Monsignor Joseph W. Staudt. Interment took place at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue.
