Cops: Cutchogue man stole convertible from restaurant parking lot

A Cutchogue man was arrested after he was caught in an allegedly stolen car in Southold Sunday morning, Southold Town police said.

Alexander Ellioff, 30, was pulled over near South Harbor Road just before noon after someone at Six Three One restaurant in Southold reported a man had stolen his convertible from the restaurant’s parking lot.

Mr. Ellioff was taken into custody and charged with felony fourth-degree grand larceny and aggravated unlicensed driving, police said. According to Southold Justice Court, he will be arraigned on the charges in August.
