Blotter: DWIs, trespassing charges and vandalism

Two drunken drivers were caught on the North Fork Friday in separate incidents, according to Southold Town police reports.

About 6:45 that morning, police received a report of a Dodge Durango driving erratically on Route 48 in Mattituck, police said. An officer located the vehicle and pulled over the driver for a traffic violation, police said.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was Kristopher O’Connell, 29, of Manorville, who was found to have a revoked driver’s license with 19 suspensions. Police also found Mr. O’Connell had a hypodermic needle that contained heroin, according to the press release.

Mr. O’Connell was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance and released on bail to return to court at a later date, police said.

A Mattituck woman was arrested for drunken driving after she was seen driving “all over the road” in Southold Friday night, police said.

A caller to police spotted a gold 2016 Nissan driving erratically on Tuckers Lane about 8:40 p.m., according to the report. Police located the car and pulled over the driver, 64-year-old Joanne Meyer, for a traffic violation, police said.

Ms. Meyer was found to be intoxicated and was charged with misdemeanor DWI, according to the reports. She was taken back to police headquarters to be held before an arraignment in town court.

• A couple was arrested for trespassing at Vineyard 48 in Cutchogue Saturday afternoon. According to police, they refused to leave the business after being asked “numerous times.”

The girlfriend in the incident was also cited for harassment after she allegedly slapped a security guard after the guard was involved in a “disturbance” with her boyfriend about 3:50 p.m., police said. The two were taken to police headquarters for processing and were charged with the violations, police said.

• Someone broke into the rear building at Transfiguration of Christ Greek Orthodox Church in Mattituck and vandalized it, according to a police report filed last Monday. The break-in was reported about 12:45 p.m. that day.

No arrests were reported and police provided no additional details about the vandalism.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
