Lifelong Cutchogue resident Marjorie B. Swiatocha died Aug. 31 at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport.  She was 88.

The daughter of Theodore O. and Hannah (Goodale) Beebe, Marjorie was born Oct. 24, 1927, in Greenport. She graduated from Southold High School in 1945. 

Marjorie was a nurse’s aide for private patients and also worked at San Simeon by the Sound in Greenport. She was a past director of the Cutchogue Village Green and hostess for The Old House.

Marjorie was a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed watching Jeopardy, bicycling, the beach, cooking, boating, the outdoors, gardening and spending time with family. She always “had time for others with her warm gentle smile and bright hazel eyes.”

Predeceased by her husband, Edward, in 1979 and her brother William M. Beebe, Marjorie is survived by her son, Wayne; her brother, Theodore Beebe of Cutchogue and two grandchildren, Kyler and William.

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at North Fork United Methodist Church in Cutchogue. Interment will take place at Cutchogue Cemetery.
