Audrey H. Rackett

Audrey H. Rackett, 85, of Carteret, N.J, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her daughter’s home  March 10, 2018. 

The daughter of William and Helen (Skorpil) Martin, she was born Audrey H. Martin June 26, 1932, in Woodhaven (Queens), and grew up in St. Albans, N.Y.  On May 19, 1956, Audrey and her husband, Bruce, were married and began their lives together in Southold, before settling in Carteret, N.J. to raise their family. Later in life, Audrey obtained her associate degree in nursing, and worked as a registered nurse for Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, NJ, for approximately 25 years before retiring.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Helen (Skorpil) Martin, her beloved husband, Bruce Rackett, and her dear brother, William E. Martin. Audrey is survived by her loving children, Cheryl L. Halpin and her partner, Michelle Fagan, of Cliffwood, N.J., Allison Craven and her husband, Edward, of Toms River, N.J., Jody Nicholson and her husband, Raymond, of Marlboro, N.J., Bruce Rackett and his wife, Melodi, of Long Branch, N.J., Stacey Keating and her husband, John, of Marlboro, N.J., Jamie Rackett and his wife, Michelle, of Aberdeen, N.J., Kip Rackett and his wife, Cheryl, of Monroe, NJ., Denny Rackett and his wife, Michele, of Jensen Beach, Fla., and Brett Racket and his wife, Robin, of Woodbridge, N.J. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Dorothy Martin of Southold, along with 24 cherished grandchildren, and 10 adored great-grandchildren. Audrey will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

The family received visitors March 13 at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. in Hazlet, NJ.  A church service was offered March 14 at First Presbyterian Church, Southhold. Interment followed at East Marion Cemetery.
