David Vazquez

Longtime Greenport resident David Vazquez died May 7 at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport. He was 65. 

The son of Santos (Gonzales) and Justo Vazquez, he was born April 7, 1953, in Salinas, Puerto Rico.

Mr. Vazquez worked for Sunrise Bus Company.

Family members said he loved music, cooking, church and family.

Predeceased by his parents, Mr. Vazquez is survived by his wife, Nazly (Colina) Vazquez; son, Juan David; his daughters, Patricia and Sherly; his brothers Alberto and Cleofe; sisters, Celita and Silvia and four grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, May 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Iglesia Mas que Vencedores in East Marion, where a Mass will follow from 7 to 9 p.m., officiated by Senior Pastor David Menjivar.

Arrangements were in the care of Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport.
