Eleanor C. Pollock

Longtime Greenport resident Eleanor C. Pollock died Jan. 30 at San Simeon by the Sound Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was 84.

She was born Feb. 16, 1927, in Manhattan to Ellen (Mulrooney) and Edward Bergold.

She loved spending time with her multigenerational family, they said.

Predeceased by her first and second husbands, John Cunningham and John Pollock, she is survived by her children, Jean Venticinque of Queens, John Cunningham of Farmingdale and Joan Nockelin of Greenport; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Marilyn VanEtten and Elizabeth Tonner; her brother, Edward Bergold; and a grandson.

Visiting hours and a service took place Feb. 3 at Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport, Pastor Garret M. Johnson officiating. Cremation was private.
