Dolores Loesch

Dolores Loesch, 84, of Jamesport, N.Y., died on Thursday, May 3, 2012.

Dolores (Del) was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend when she was summoned to heaven. Dolores is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence, and her dear brother, Francis Spor.

She was born in Manhattan, N.Y., on July 26, 1927, to Anna Madden and Francis Spor. She is the loving mother to Patricia Vierling, Diane Otto, Lawrence Loesch, Christine Innes, James Loesch, Joyce Bright, Dolores Loesch and John Loesch (deceased). Cherished grandmother of 24 and adored great-grandmother of 17.

Dolores was devoted to the Blessed Mother and was an avid reader, painter, Scrabble champ, crocheter, advisor, friend and role model to all who knew her. She was compassionate, loving, ahead of her time and had an uncanny sense of humor.

Visitation was at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck on Saturday and Sunday. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck by Monsignor Joseph W. Staudt and Rev. Fr. Philip J. Pizzo. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or Sacred Heart Parish/Our Lady of Good Counsel Mission Church.
