Genevieve T. Shelton

Genevieve T. Shelton, 94, passed away on May 26. She was a longtime resident of Cutchogue and Delray Beach, Fla.

Genevieve was an avid golfer and active member of the North Fork Country Club, where she always enjoyed the bridge games and afternoon luncheons with the ladies.

Gardening was her passion, which gave her much pleasure and great satisfaction. Her flower beds were among the finest in Broadwaters Cove.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother.

Predeceased by her husband, Thaddeus, in 2010, she is survived by her grateful children and their spouses, Barbara and Harry Hall, Linda and Mitchell Schwefel, and Nancy Dove and Robert and Mara Shelton; her adoring grandchildren, Kat Hall, Greg Hall, Sandy White-Hall, Harry Schwefel, Mary Butterhof, Stephanie and Alexander Dove and Neil, Lara and Marina Shelton; and her great-grandchildren, Sophie Hall and her brother, Baby Boy Hall, born May 29, Henry Nathaniel Schwefel and Jake Thaddeus Schwefel. She is also survived by her twin sister, Gladys Nanasy of Delray Beach, Fla., and sisters-in-law Frances Johnson of Lompoc, Calif., and Betty Shelton of Rockville Centre.

Genevieve was a devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue.

Visiting hours will take place Wednesday, May 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 31, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church, followed by interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cutchogue.

Donations in Genevieve’s memory may be made for Masses at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church.
