Adam Vennettilli

Adam Vennettilli, a resident of Peconic Landing in Greenport, N.Y., died May 27 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 92.

He was born in Rome, Italy, on May 5, 1920, to Onorio and Maria Pia Vennettilli. He graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula, after spending his junior year at the University of Perugia, Italy, and then earned a master’s degree from the University of Texas. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Following the war, Mr. Vennettilli was associated with Catholic Relief Services – National Catholic Welfare Conference (CRS-NCWC), locating and in charge of offices in Naples, Bari and Palermo in Italy. When he returned to his family home in South Orange, N.J., he became an executive in the plastics industry and worked in real estate.
Mr. Vennettilli lived in Cranford, N.J., and Shelter Island, N.Y., where he was a member of Gardiner’s Bay Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen, and his niece, Dr. Arlene Kleinsorge. He was predeceased by his younger brothers, Armen and Arthur.

A funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 1, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Agnes R.C. Church in Greenport. Interment will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to Horton-Mathie Funeral home in Greenport.
