Donna Stephenson Tweedie
Donna Stephenson Tweedie of Orient died at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport Dec. 16. She was 67.
Ms. Tweedie was born Jan. 15, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas to parents Donald Alford Stephenson and Katherine Burnham Stephenson. She lived full time in Orient for the past 12 years, but spent every summer of her life here. She was a lifelong member of the Orient Yacht Club.
She worked as an ESL teacher in the Alexandria City Public School system in Alexandria, Va. She held a master’s degree degree in speech pathology from Long Island University and a bachelor’s in anthropology from Adelphi University.
She is survived by her two sons, Donald Scott Tweedie and Mark Stephenson Tweedie.
The family has asked that memorial donations be made in her name to the North Fork Animal Welfare League, P.O. Box 297, Southold, NY 11971. Or Eastern Long Island Hospital at Eastern Long Island Hospital, Development Office, 201 Manor Place, Greenport, NY 11944.
