UPDATE, July 24: A Mattituck man crashed into a Florida woman last Wednesday when he was trying to make a left turn from the westbound lane of Route 48 onto Mill Lane in Mattituck, but failed to yield to the right of way of the woman who was going eastbound on Route 48, the report states.
The man said there were large construction barrels and heavy dust from road work, so he did not see the woman coming, causing him to strike the rear passenger side, according to Southold Town Police.
Two people were being airlifted following a two-car crash in Mattituck Wednesday afternoon, according to the Mattituck Fire Department.
Their conditions are not clear.
