A 54-year-old man was arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs in Southold on Friday, town police said.

Robert Sullivan of Cutchogue was driving a pickup truck west on Main Road about 10:30 a.m. when officers stopped the truck and found Mr. Sullivan “to be impaired,” according to a police report.

The report did not mention what type of drugs he was suspected of using.

Mr. Sullivan was charged with misdemeanor DWAI, police said.

Southold Town police carSouthold Police said a Manorville man was driving drunk when he ran into a telephone pole on Route 25 Monday night.

According to police, 48-year-old John Weiss was driving eastbound in Southold about 7 p.m. when he ran off the roadway and hit the pole. Police said he admitted to drinking alcohol before the accident.

Mr. Weiss was transported to headquarters and held overnight. He is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.

In a separate incident, police arrested Shirley resident Bonnie Dean for reportedly driving under the influence of drugs.

Police said Ms. Dean was stopped for speeding on County Road 48 near Love Lane about 11 a.m.

According to cops, an investigation revealed that she was impaired by drugs, and she was later found to be in possession of marijuana. She was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs — a misdemeanor — as well as given citations for unlawful possession of marijuana and speeding.

She was also transported to headquarters and is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.

A Florida man was driving drunk when he was stopped for speeding along Route 48 in Peconic Saturday morning, Southold Town Police said.

Cory Fallon, 23, of Plantation, Fla. was observed by police as he was operating a 1998 Toyota sedan at a high rate of speed while traveling east on Route 48 in Peconic shortly after 11 a.m., police said.

The vehicle was stopped for speeding, and upon interview of Mr. Fallon it was found that he was under the influence of alcohol, police said. He was subsequently arrested and transported to Southold Town Police Headquarters, where he was processed and released on bail for a later court date, police said.

He was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, police said.

Southold Police arrested a Sound Beach woman Tuesday morning for driving under the influence of drugs and marijuana possession, according to reports.

Marcello Greco-Jacobs, 36, was stopped for a traffic infraction on Route 48 in Cutchogue just before 9 a.m., police said. After submitting to a blood test at a local hospital, she was taken to headquarters and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, speeding and failure to signal, according to police.

She was held pending arraignment.
