Immediately after the Mattituck/Greenport high school wrestlers polished off Center Moriches in a Suffolk County League VII dual meet Friday night, the Tuckers gathered together for a team picture.
Most of them held up their middle three fingers to signify the third consecutive undefeated season they experienced, winning the league crown as many times.
Needless to say, the Tuckers were quite proud of their accomplishment. (more…)

Look at the evidence. Look at what the Mattituck/Greenport high school wrestling team did last season.
The Tuckers put up an 18-3 record, going undefeated (8-0) in Suffolk County League VII for the second season in a row. Heading into their season-opening match against Longwood Wednesday, they have won 16 consecutive league matches over the last two seasons. For the first time in team history, they won back-to-back league titles, giving them a total of five. (more…)

All-American. The words seem to jump off the page and grab a reader’s attention the way a wrestler grabs hold of an opponent.
Those two words now apply to a pair of Mattituck/Greenport high school wrestlers.
Twin brothers Luke and Jack Bokina both earned All-American status by virtue of their performances in the recent National High School Coaches Association Wrestling Championships. Luke took second place in the middle school tournament at 85 pounds while Jack finished fifth at 90. All-American honors went to the top eight wrestlers in each weight class. (more…)

One more win stood between Jack Bokina and the podium at the Division II New York State Wrestling Championships Saturday morning. An eighth-grader wrestling for Mattituck/Greenport, Bokina was aiming to become the first Tucker wrestler to finish all-state since 2007. (more…)
