A Greenport woman reportedly bit a Southold Town police officer Saturday night while he attempted to subdue her, according to a police report.
The officer responded to Third Street around 6 p.m. after receiving a report of an emotionally disturbed person, police said. The subject bit the officer’s right bicep, causing an abrasion, while he attempted to take her to a comprehensive psychiatric emergency program, officials said.
Southold Town police assisted the Suffolk County Police Department in locating two men who were allegedly in possession of a handgun on Route 25 last Thursday afternoon, according to a police report.
The men “may have communicated a threat to a school district” and were traveling in a black Chevrolet Impala around 2 p.m., the report states.
An unlicensed Greenport man was arrested last Wednesday morning after he was caught using his cellphone while driving, according to a Southold Town police report.
Angel Colon, 46, was driving on Route 25 in Greenport around 9:15 a.m. when he was pulled over, officials said.

Gary Krogman, 55, was reportedly seen driving erratically on Peconic Bay Boulevard and Bray Avenue around 4:30 p.m. The off-duty cop pulled Mr. Krogman over and found open containers of alcohol in his vehicle, officials said.

A woman who was walking her dog in Cutchogue called police to report a possible break-in at a vacant house on Pequash Avenue last Tuesday morning.
The woman told police that when she passed the house, her dog began “acting weird.” She believed her dog had a “feeling” something was wrong. Police investigated the house and found it was secure and that “nothing appeared out of the ordinary,” according to the report.

A life raft worth $3,675 was reported missing Sunday night by a Shelter Island man who had his boat repaired in Greenport, according to a police report.
The man said his boat had been taken to a dockyard in Greenport for servicing between July and September 2016. Sometime during the servicing, the life raft was stolen, the victim claimed.
