The 2015 Greenport Tall Ships Challenge continued on Sunday with a street fair and more tours of the high-masted vessels.

Northforker.com was there to take photographs and interview some of the thousands who visited the village for the festival Sunday.

Months of planning went off without a hitch as the 2015 Greenport’s Tall Ships Challenge kicked off Saturday. The ships were in place, the vendors were set up and the visitors came by the carload, as they lined up to see the majestic vessels.  (more…)

A small ceremony to officially kick off Greenport’s Tall Ships festival was held in Mitchell Park Saturday morning.

Master of Ceremonies Captain Dave Berson welcomed all five captains to the Village, telling them “Greenport Village has always been a harbor of refuge and a shelter for ships. Greenport has always welcomed sailors since it was settled and it welcomes you now.”

He also pointed out that Greenport is the smallest community hosting the Tall Ships this year. (more…)

The Tall Ships Captain’s Reception was held Friday night at Peconic Landing’s Brecknock Hall in Greenport. The reception serves as the kick-off for the Tall Ships festival.  (more…)

The Tall Ships of America tour will make a stop in Greenport Harbor this Independence Day weekend, where six vessels from around the world will dock for the Greenport Village Tall Ships Challenge 2015.  (more…)
