My name is Maureen Radigan and this is where I work, The Child’s Garden Preschool in Southold.

Every single day, we try to connect children to the land by cooking. So we have quite a large garden. We have 40 raised beds that were generously donated from the Peconic Land Trust. READ

Helen Wright Prince dedicated her life to Southold Town. She served as a teacher at the Cutchogue migrant labor camp and Southold Elementary School, volunteered at the Suffolk County and Southold historical societies, helped people trace their genealogies, and more.

Now, two years after her death at 101 years old, Southold Town is giving back to her.

In an effort to get his students to read, Southold Elementary School fourth-grade teacher Skip Munisteri offered a challenge: Read 80 books in 80 days, and he would ride his bike from his home in Setauket to the Oaklawn Avenue school — all 41 miles, rain or shine.  (more…)
