With the nice weather comes lots of news but, as I’ve said before, there’s nothing as smile-worthy as the birth of a new baby.

Brenda and Chris Walters welcomed their firstborn, Christopher Walters Jr., on Sept. 9, 2009. He was three weeks ahead of schedule and arrived while Dad was still home on leave before deploying with the Marine Corps to Afghanistan. Brenda and little Christopher, along with grandmother Diana DiVello, will fly to 29 Palms, Calif., to greet Chris prior to his debriefing. The family will welcome the Walters in a celebration in May in Mattituck and then Brenda, Chris and Christopher will return to California. Congratulations and thank you for your service, Chris!

Andrew Walters graduated from USMC boot camp on Jan. 29. He is currently attending aviation engineering school in Pensacola, Fla. Congratulations and God bless!
