Haiti, the North Fork has a message for you: You are not forgotten.
Some of the North Fork’s most talented musicians and singers performed Sunday in the Heart for Haiti: Music to Move the Soul benefit concert at Mattituck Presbyterian Church. The event, which was held both Saturday and Sunday to packed houses, was a musical fundraiser to provide much needed aid to earthquake devastated Haiti.
The concert opened with “Amazing Grace,” an emotional tribute to the victims, and quickly moved on to a wall-shaking gospel rendition of “Let it Be,” led by The Hurricanes’ Courtney Tomlinson. Interspersed between performances from local singers were slide shows and video messages from Haiti.
All proceeds from the free-will offerings, as well as the sale of t-shirts and original Haitian art, go toward the rebuilding efforts in Haiti.
