* The Southold Youth Bureau is sponsoring a program for parents and students on teen depression at the Peconic recreation center at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 11. Dale Camhi, New York Metro regional director of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, will speak and Rachel Priest will share her personal story.

* A technologist from the Southampton Sleep Center will speak on sleep apnea and other sleeping disorders at Mattituck-Laurel Library on Thursday, May 13, at 7 p.m. Call 298-4134.

The library will host a new season of chair aerobics with Laurie Short starting Wednesday, May 12, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Participants should bring three- to seven-pound dumbbells and water. There’s a $30 charge for the six- week program.

* Stirling Yoga in Greenport is offering Zen meditation every Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. There are two 25-minute sessions with a five-minute walking meditation in between and a discussion afterward. Bring a meditation cushion or folding chair. Instruction available for beginners. Free, but $5 donation suggested. Call Jenny at 765-5055.

* Cutchogue-New Suffolk Library will host a discussion for seniors on health care coordination and resolving legal issues on Monday, May 10, at 2 p.m. On Thursdays, May 6-27, at 4:30, a one-hour class combining cardio, kickboxing and Kenpo is offered. Registration required for both programs. Call 734-6360.

* Cirilo Pena has been named May’s employee of the month at Peconic Landing in Greenport. He has worked in housekeeping/environmental services there for almost five years. According to his supervisor, Darryl Volinski, Mr. Pena has been nominated for several perfect attendance awards, can be counted on to handle his routine work as well as daily and snow-related emergencies and assists other employees regularly. He is “dedicated” and “is a great asset to Peconic Landing,” Mr. Volinski said

* The Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary and Mullen Motors have teamed up for the annual fundraising car raffle. The winner may choose either a 2010 Jeep Patriot Sport or $10,000 in cash. For tickets, at $50 each, call 477-5463. Only 900 tickets will be sold. The winner will be chosen Monday, May 10, at noon at the hospital.
