Greenport

I’ve got lots of news this week, so I’ll get right to it!

Denise Angevine, daughter of Donna and Dave, was guest of honor at a bridal shower at Poquatuck Hall this past Saturday. Denise will marry Dean Karavas, son of former Greenporters Gloria and Tom, on June 12.

Congratulations for Alexis Reed are definitely in order. Alexis and her teammates on the Lady Gems East End select field hockey team won the Hofstra Spring Invitational Tournament, much to the surprise of their Garden City opponents. The entire team has been invited to the AAU Field Hockey National Championship/Showcase in Lancaster, Pa., in August.

Purple is the signature color of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, and its “Paint the Town Purple” campaign began last weekend. One free purple bow per family is available at Ivy League Florist in Southold and at Mattituck Florist and Garden. Flags are for sale at Kapell Realty in Greenport.
