Pauline C. Zischka

Pauline C. Zischka of Southold died at her home on May 5. She was 88.

Born in Flushing on Aug. 18, 1921, to Otto and Rose Umbach Zischka, she was a graduate of Adelphi University, Fordham University and New York University.

She had a long career as a professor at Fordham and as chief psychiatric social worker for the City of New York. She also wrote several books on social work.

She moved to Southold 20 years ago after having summered here for many years. She was a communicant at St. Patrick R. C. Church in Southold.

She is survived by a cousin, Marianne Luck of Germany.

Visitation was at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home May 11. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated May 12 at St. Patrick by Father Kenneth Hand. Interment was at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury.
