Bruce T. Lindemann

Bruce T. Lindemann of Southold died suddenly on May 31, 2010. He was 63 years old.

Born on Oct. 8, 1946, in Queens to Conrad and Alice (n e Meder) Lindemann, he received his bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt., and his MBA from Hofstra University.

On Aug. 24, 1968, he married Louise Martin in Strafford, Pa., and together they made their home in Port Washington and Southold. His father had built the existing house here in the Southwood development.

Bruce had been the head of the family textile business, Meder Textiles Co. Inc., in Port Washington for 40 years.

In his community, he was an assistant scout master of Boy Scout Troop 1001 in Port Washington and a member of the New Salem Civic Association.

Bruce had been involved in scouting nearly all his life, contributed to the ultimate scout achievement of at least five or six Eagle Scouts and molded the lives of countless boys who grew into responsible adults.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; two children, Danielle Lindemann of New York City and Marc Lindemann of Miller Place; two grandchildren, Lilah Margaret Lindemann and Marc Alexander Lindemann Jr.; two cousins, Robert and David Reeves; and an aunt, Winnie Reeves.

Arrangements were entrusted to DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes.
