Greenport man issued summons following pedestrian hit and run

A Greenport man left the scene of a motor vehicle accident after striking a pedestrian and another vehicle Saturday night outside of Greenport 7-Eleven, Southold Town police reported.
Christopher Tabor, 22, told police he thought the 1998 GMC van he was driving in the parking lot of the convenience store was in reverse when it lurched forward and hit Tommy Finne, 20, of Greenport at 10:14 p.m., police said.
The van also struck a vehicle owned by Erick Secaida, 18, of Cutchogue, police said.
Mr. Tabor told police he left the scene because Mr. Finne’s friends were “after him,” police reported. He was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with property damage.
Mr. Secaida told police that he felt Mr. Tabor intentionally struck his vehicle and Mr. Finne because Mr. Finne and Mr. Tabor were arguing before the accident.
Mr. Finne refused to cooperate with police regarding the accident, police said. He was taken to Eastern Long Island Hospital for treatment to leg and hand injuries, police said.
