Achievements

Jacob Sisson

* Clara Jauquet of Greenport received a bachelor of science degree from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs on May 22.

* Jacob Sisson of Mattituck received a bachelor of science degree in human biology, health and society with a minor in exercise science from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., on May 30. Jake was a member of the Cornell Cycling Club, and served as its president, vice president and secretary. A 2006 graduate of Mattituck High School, he is the son of Mark and Lauren Sisson.

* Mary Hughes and Hanna Propst, both of Greenport and students at Suffolk Commmunity College, have received the 2010 Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence from the State University of New York.

* Thomas Wells, a senior majoring in secondary education/social studies at York College in Pennsylvania, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2010 semester. He is a resident of Mattituck.

* Sarah King of Mattituck was awarded a doctor of physical therapy degree from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn., on May 9.

* Patrick Claire of Mattituck graduated May 21 from Marist College in Poughkeepsie with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice.

* Robert Sayre III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sayre of Cutchogue, was awarded a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts on May 15.

* Grace Chilton of Mattituck graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan., with a B.A. in finance.

* Brittany Knote of Southold, Alexandra Kowalsick of Cutchogue and Christopher Ujkic of Mattituck were all named to the spring 2010 dean’s list at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.

* Melissa Principi of Southold graduated May 23 from Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass., with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.

* Three local students graduated in May from SUNY/New Paltz: Juliet Biemiller of Mattituck earned a degree in contract; Laura Beirne of Southold received a degree in adolescent education: social studies; and Kenneth Deegan of Mattituck was awarded a degree in geography.
