WORTH NOTING Wine-ding down with concert series

For relaxation and entertainment, it doesn’t get much better than the East End Arts Council’s annual summer Wine Press Concert Series.

Mellow out amid the vines at a local vineyard, picnic as the sun sets and enjoy performances by some truly extraordinary musicians.

This year’s series, sponsored by BNY Mellon Wealth Management, includes three special Saturday concerts.

On July 24, Sparkling Pointe Vineyard in Southold will host New York’s Most Dangerous Big Band, a 20-piece ensemble led by Ed DeCorsia that plays everything from Sinatra to funk.

On July 31, Castello di Borghese Vineyard welcomes perennial series participant Hugh Prestwood of Greenport, a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, who always brings along a few friends. This year he’ll be joined by fellow musicians and songwriters Chris Baron and Jeff Cohen.

Finally, on Aug. 14, at Duck Walk North Vineyard in Southold, acclaimed guitarists Woody Mann and Toby Walker will serve up a hot mix of blues, jazz, country and rag.

All concerts run from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the gate. Purchase at the EEAC Gallery in Riverhead, by phone at 727-0900 or online at http://eastendartscouncil.ticketleap.com. Wine will be available for purchase by glass or bottle at each vineyard.
