Dan Kujawski’s court coverage helped Di Angela Leather to its fourth North Side-Out Beach Volleyball League Tournament title in seven years.

They are on a mighty roll.

Allstate moved into sole possession of second place in the North Fork Women’s Softball League last week by clobbering Community Speech Language and Learning Center, 19-5, last Thursday night and then topping Eric’s Lawn Care, 10-5, on Friday night at the Polo Grounds in Greenport.

Against Eric’s Lawn Care, Allstate (7-3) held an 8-5 lead going into the top of the seventh inning. But as it has done for much of this season, when Allstate needed a timely hit, it got it. This time run-scoring singles by Jess Heaney and Jess Michaelis sealed the win.

Tracy Sutton, Allstate’s third baseman, had a huge game, going 5 for 5 with a pair of doubles. Jill Schroeder had two hits and drove home three runs. Heaney, Erin Bednoski, and Erin Snyder also had two hits each.

Amy Kirincic, Allstate’s winning pitcher, kept Eric’s Lawn Care off the scoreboard through the first four innings and finished with four strikeouts.

In the lopsided win over Community Speech, Amy Reuschle swung a hot bat for Allstate. She had five hits and knocked in five runs in addition to scoring four times. Heaney had three hits, including a two-run triple in a four-run second inning and a run-scoring double in the sixth. Sutton, Schroeder, Lisl Thomas, Kate Schertel and Dawn George also had two hits apiece. Schertel had three runs batted in. Sutton, the winning pitcher, also had seven assists and struck out four batters.

Schroeder summed up Allstate’s week, saying, “We had two fantastic games!”

In other league action, Fogarty Air Conditioning Service improved to a league-leading 10-0 as it won forfeits from G&C Petroleum and Community Speech (0-10).

Fogarty pitcher Diana Stulsky said her team is looking forward to playing Eric’s Lawn Care (3-8) tonight and rival G&C Petroleum (6-3) tomorrow night to conclude the season.

Fogarty has clinched its third straight title. “Basically, we’ve had the same girls year after year,” Stulsky said. “We’ve had a few additions, but for the most part we’ve been all together. Lynn Eckhardt and I have played together for 18 years, like forever.”
