Food drive this weekend

Community Action of Southold Town will hold a food drive this Saturday, Aug. 14, at all four Southold Town supermarkets. Volunteers will be outside each market with shopping carts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accept donations to help stock food pantry shelves. Please add something to your cart for CAST’s cart.

‘Three Sisters’ casting call

North Fork Community Theatre will hold open auditions on Sunday, Aug. 15, for a November production of Chekhov’s ‘Three Sisters,’ adapted and directed by Peg Murray. Call 516-383-7462 for appointments and other information.

Donate school supplies

As a new academic year approaches, Community Action of Southold Town has launched its annual school supply campaign. Donations of three- and five-subject spiral notebooks, composition books, backpacks, washable colored Sharpie pens, tape, sticky notes and one-, two- and three-inch ring binders are needed. Items can be dropped at local banks and at Colonial Drugs, Century 21 Albertson Real Estate or CAST headquarters at 311 Front St., all in Greenport.

Voice to host sundowner

SoutholdVOICE will hold a sundowner — a party held during sunset — on Thursday, Aug. 19, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Pepi’s Restaurant in Southold. For information visit southoldvoice.com or call 655-7255.

Singer to perform at church

Recording artist Marsha King will participate in regular worship services at Mattituck Presbyterian Church Sunday, Aug. 22, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., presenting songs and stories from her book and CD “Peace in the Midst of the Storm.” All are welcome. Call 298-4134, ext. 7.

St. Peter’s hosts Bible camp

Greenport Ecumenical Ministries’ Bible camp at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Greenport will kick off with a celebration Sunday, Aug. 15, at 6 p.m. The camp will run daily 9 a.m. to noon from Monday, Aug. 16, to Friday, Aug. 20, featuring Bible classes, crafts, songs, games and snacks for children ages 3 through 12. Beach service scheduled

North Fork Reform Synagogue’s final summer Friday night service will be celebrated at Kenney’s Beach in Southold on Aug. 20 at around 6:45  p.m., following a picnic supper. Learn about labyrinths

Lisa Barrow, of Sacred Spaces, will lead a workshop on labyrinths Saturday, Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at First Parish Church, UCC, Sound Avenue, Riverhead. Shared summer services

First Parish Church, UCC, and Old Steeple Church, UCC, will share Sunday services for the remainder of the summer. Pastor Dianne Rodriguez will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 15 at First Parish Church in Northville and on Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. at Old Steeple Church in Aquebogue.

A whale of a drive

The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation has launched its summer adoption drive, hoping to get 500 rescued seals, whales, dolphins or sea turtles adopted this season. Adoption packages, available for $30 or $40, include photos and bios of your animal, an official adoption certificates and more. You can also enter a drawing, online or at Atlantis Marine World, to win a “super adoption” package. Kids up to age 10 can enter a weekly coloring contest at the rescue center.
