Peconic Bay Winery unveiled the second largest vineyard ground mounted solar panel system in the nation Wednesday.
The system, capable of generating almost 40 kilowatts of power, will supply between 75 and 80 percent of the winery’s power needs, according to general manager James Silver.
Long island Power Authority CEO Kevin Law said the project is another example of an agressive push for solar power in eastern Suffolk County.
“The East End is helping to lead the way [in solar],” Mr. Law said. LIPA has 3,300 total customers
