Mattituck forward Amber Mello, who was followed by Southampton’s Caroline Rumph, passed for four assists.

They are off to a good start.
It is early, very early in the high school girls soccer season, but after his team’s 4-0 victory in Babylon on Monday, Mattituck Tuckers Coach Ed Barbante is pleased with how his team is playing. The
Tuckers, despite some early-season injuries, are 4-1 overall and 2-1 in
Suffolk County League VII play. The Babylon Panthers fell to 2-3, 1-2.
“There is still room for improvement,” Barbante said, “but we’re doing a lot of good things right now.”
After Morgan Zuhoski’s goal midway through the first half gave Mattituckthe lead, the Tuckers broke the game wide open in the second half when Nikki Zurawski, Nicole Murphy and Fiona Gorman all tallied goals. For Murphy, a sophomore, it was her first varsity goal. Lauren Guja had two assists.
