Mattituck-Laurel

‘Go Tuckers’ will be the cheer you hear tomorrow as Mattituck High School celebrates its 2010 Homecoming. There will be tennis, volleyball and soccer games to watch, Lucas Ford cars to test-drive (with a $20 donation going into the Booster Club treasury with each drive) and the unveiling of the club’s big blue snack truck. The games will follow a pep rally and PTSA-sponsored flag football game. Afterward, students are invited to this year’s Homecoming Dance. Sounds like it will be a lot fun for all involved.

Homecoming wraps up a week of spirit-filled activities throughout the school. Each grade was assigned a hallway to decorate. Imaginations went wild as the halls came to life with creativity. In addition each day had a theme — PJ Day, Jersey Day, Animal Day, Decade Day and finally, in preparation for the pep rally, Blue and Gold Day — and students dressed accordingly to compete for prizes.

Speaking of fun, tonight at 7 p.m, students in grades 9-12 will team up against the teachers, administrators and support staff in a test of agility, speed and common sense at this year’s Tucker Bowl. Everyone is welcome.

Rebecca also won first place in the Marshall and Sterling class at the The North Fork Classic on the previous Friday.

The PTSA and grades 9-12 are co-sponsoring a Yankee Candle fundraiser to help offset the cost of the prom and senior trip for individual students.
