Oysterponds warns parents of man approaching kids

Reports of a man approaching young kids from his black Honda CRV has parents in the Oysterponds school district on high alert.
Oysterponds superintendent Stuart Rachlin sent out a notice to parents in the district Wednesday saying the man has been spotted in the area on at least two occasions.
The first time he approached two students, but “the incident ended peacefully,” Dr. Rachlin said.
Today Dr. Rachlin said he received word from a parent that a man was driving the same car erratically in Orient. He said the police were notified about the second incident.
The district is asking parents to review with their children what they should do if approached by a stranger.
“Sorry to have to start the new school year with this alert,” Dr. Rachlin wrote.
