Diane E. Fest

Former Mattituck resident Diane E. Fest died Aug. 14. She was 69.

She was born May 3, 1941, in Sunnyside, N.Y., to Dominic Cortese and Jewel Scardamalia. She later lived in Mount Lebanon and Bethel Park, Pa., before moving to Mattituck. After a career in sales, she retired to Radford, Va.

According to her family “she was known for her energy and for her readiness to help others, always with a smile and a kind word.”

She is survived by her children, Denise Dabney of Radford and Daniel, of New Hope, Pa.; sister Joan Sepich of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

A celebration of her life was held Aug. 23 at Central United Methodist Church in Radford.
