* Cutchogue-New Suffolk Library will host a meditation series called Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Tuesdays, Sept. 14-Oct. 12, at 1 p.m. Fee: $30, payable at the first session.

Kickboxing classes are slated Mondays, Sept. 13-Nov. 1 (no class Sept. 20 or Oct. 11), 5 to 6 p.m. Fee: $30, payable at the first session. Call 734-6360.

* A 10-week program of early morning yoga will be held at Mattituck-Laurel Library beginning Monday, Sept. 13, 7-8:15 a.m. Bring a yoga mat or towel. Fee: $50, payable at first session.

The library will also host low-impact dance aerobics for six weeks beginning Monday, Sept. 13, 9-10 a.m., with instructor Laurie Short. Bring a mat, a pair of three- to five-pound dumbbells and a water bottle. Fee: $30, payable at the first session.

* Pamela Babcock, a social worker at The Shores, is September’s employee of the month at Peconic Landing, where she has been a dedicated, loyal and caring employee for almost eight years. As independent residents at Peconic Landing transition into needing more care, Ms. Babcock works with them and their families to coordinate the change, said Greg Garrett, vice president for health services. She has been a leader in bringing the ideals and actions of person-centered care into all facets of Peconic Landing’s programs and has started support groups for families and patients, Mr. Garrett said.
