WORTH NOTING The jewels of Jamesport

A dozen of Jamesport’s most intriguing homes — dating from as early as the 1830s to the present, including houses not seen previously — will be open to the public during the hamlet’s second annual historic house tour on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A fundraising cocktail party will be held the night before the tour in another 1837 home that’s not on the tour.

Tou tickets are $40 in advance, $50 at the door. Admission to both the tour and the cocktail party is $100. Proceeds benefit the Jamesport Meeting House Preservation Trust, formed to protect and maintain the venerable 1731 building on Main Road, where the tour begins. The tour can be walked or biked, and parking will be available at several places along the route.

In addition, the following Jamesport establishments will donate a portion of any ticket holder’s tour-day check to the trust: Bayview Inn, Duffy’s Deli, Cliff’s Elbow Room, Grana Pizza, Jedediah Hawkins Inn, Jamesport Country Kitchen, Jamesport Manor Inn and Junda’s Bakery.
