Southold police make drug arrests
Southold Town Police arrested three young men on drug possession charges on the morning of Friday, Oct. 8.
Christopher Steiner, 23, of Southold was arrested just after 7 a.m. at a gas station in Cutchogue, where police said that they found him in possession of two wax fold packets of heroin. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Two 19 year olds were arrested on a charge of unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, on the Southold High School grounds at 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 8.
Police on a foot patrol of the area said they found Joseph Walter of Southold to be in possession of a glass pipe that later tested positive for marijuana. Zachary McDowell was found in possession of a “green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana,” according to police reports. Both men were released and given appearance tickets.
