Vine Wine and Cafe opened in May 2006 with the concept of a wine bar offering a varied selection of wines from the North Fork as well as from around the world.
All of the wines, over 50 to choose from, are offered by the glass as well as in taste size and in “flights,” a selection of four tastes. The food format consists of small plates focusing on local and artisanally produced goods.
In July, they introduced the First Street Restaurant format to Vine, keeping the wine program the same and, in addition to the small plates, offering a more traditional restaurant menu. Dinner patrons can choose which format to order from or they can mix and match to create their ideal meal.
A new dining room has been opened, which doubles Vine’s seating capacity. According to owner Joseph Watson, “We strive to provide warm, attentive service in an attractive and welcoming environment. Our menu is seasonal and local and priced extremely competitively. Quality and value are of the utmost importance.”
