Elizabeth Jane McFann

Elizabeth Jane McFann, beloved wife of C. Joseph McFann, joined our Heavenly Father and Blessed Mother on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010.

Betty, born June 3, 1938, in Jamaica, N.Y., grew up in Baldwin and spent glorious summers at her family’s beach home in Greenport. She and Joe were married on Oct. 24, 1959, and shared 51 blessed years together building and nurturing a loving marriage and Christian family.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved mother and father, Dorothy Augusta Daly and John Joseph Daly, and her sister, Dorothy Ann Lundon.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; her five children; 22 grandchildren (17 living); and one great-grandchild — Mary Ellen McFann: Casey, Joe (Meryn, son Aidan), Caitlin, Andrew; Cathy (Kevin) Markey: Patrick, Alison, Thomas, Sean, Ryan; Mark (Bettina) McFann: Patrick, Natasha; Fran (Dave) Deacon: Nathaniel, John, Sarah; Kristina (Greg) Scala: Canyon, Sage, Dillon. Betty is also survived and was loved by extended family and friends from New York to Florida, Connecticut, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.

“Grandma Betty” was a devout Catholic and one of God’s dedicated prayer warriors.

A viewing and Mass of Christian Burial for Betty took place on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church in Rehoboth, Del.
