Chris T. DiGregorio
Chris Thomas DiGregorio of Shenandoah Junction, W. Va., died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at his home.
Born May 24, 1942, in Brooklyn to Nicholas Vincent DiGregorio and Angelina Spinelli DiGregorio, Chris graduated from Smithtown High School and attended Farmingdale College.
He was a retired Suffolk County Police Officer, badge No. 1069. An avid horseman, Chris was the owner and trainer of the Little E Thoroughbred Farm in Shenandoah Junction, W.Va. The Little E Farm stands as seventh-leading stud farm in West Virginia by stallion progeny and earnings.
Chris is survived by his wife, Ethlene (Castevens) Hayes DiGregorio; his mother, Angelina, of Kings Park; his daughter, Angela, and husband, J. Michael Orrell, of McKenney, Va.; his sons Christopher and wife, Dawn, of Southold, and Robert and wife, Mary Kate, of Cutchogue; stepdaughter, Tina White of Siler City, N.C.; brother, Peter, and wife, Judy, of Charlotte, N.C.; sister, Catherine Paret, and husband, John, of Southbury, Conn.; and many devoted relatives and friends. Chris had six grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren, and was a loving father and grandfather.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 216 S. Duke St., Shepherdstown, WV 25443, with the Rev. Fr. Matthew Rowgh as celebrant.
The family received friends on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home, US 340 at Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry, W. Va.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
