Healthbeat: Yoga and aerobics at Mattituck-Laurel Library

• San Simeon by the Sound Center for Nursing, Rehabilitation and Adult Day Health Care has received a New York State Department of Transportation grant to acquire a 20-passenger vehicle with a wheelchair lift. The grant comes through the Federal Transit Administration program and requires federal approval, expected in late spring. The bus will be used to transport registrants to and from the Adult Day Health Care Center, according to executive director Priscilla DeMasi, and to transport San Simeon residents to medical appointments and recreational activities.

•  A new 10-week yoga program will begin at Mattituck-Laurel Library Tuesday, Dec. 21, 5-6:30 p.m. Bring a yoga mat or towel The cost for all sessions is $60.
The library will host chair aerobics on Wednesday, 5-6 p.m., starting Dec. 29, 5-6 p.m. The eight-week series costs $40. Bring three- to five-pound dumbbells. Call 298-4134.
