Woman airlifted after snowmobile incident

A 44-year-old Peconic woman was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center Sunday afternoon, after she failed to negotiate a turn while snowmobiling at a vineyard in Peconic and struck a fence post. The victim, Valerie Hallock, was thrown from her snowmobile on impact and also struck the fence at about 2:16 p.m., according to police reports.
