Dr. Leonard D. Epifano
Dr. Leonard D. Epifano of Southold died Dec. 17 of cancer. He was 81.
He was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Brooklyn to Dominic and Beatrice (Serpe) Epifano. He was a graduate of Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn.
Dr. Epifano was a director of pulmonary medicine for 30 years in New Rochelle, N.Y. According to his family, he enjoyed music, bowling and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ryan-Epifano; his children, Andrea Coangelo of Hillsdale, N.Y., Elena Byrne of Westport, Conn., and Leonard, of New York City; his sister, Marie Santoro of New York City; and four grandchildren.
Private family visiting hours were held at at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. Funeral services took place Dec. 21 at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Southold. Interment followed at the church cemetery.
